These wheat and gluten free fusilli are made with organic rice- and organic quinoa flower. Quinoa is a grain high in protein. In addition it also contains vitamins, minerals, and all eight essential amino acids. Who says that a pasta dish cannot be nutritious ;-)

Experience:
A problem, if you want to name it that, with these but also other quinoa based pasta, is the fact that they easily overcook. You cook them too long, they turn into a mush, you don’t cook them long enough, they end up with too much bite. Of course the shape of the pasta has an influence on this and spiral shaped noodles are more affected by it. These fusilli are on the better end though.

Andean Dream Gluten Free Fusilli

The taste is fine, but the distinctive quinoa taste is there (I tasted the noodles without any sauce). This is not a bad thing and it is by no means overpowering your pasta sauce. Just be aware that these gluten free noodles will not taste exactly like their Italian counterparts.

All in all Andean Dream’s gluten free fusilli are a very good alternative pasta choice. I would recommend them and I also will buy them again.

You should be able to find Andean Dream products at your local health food store. I buy them at Whole Foods. You can also order them online but I found the price to be better at my local store. Your experience may vary.

Experience:
These 3 types of noodles are among my favorites. They taste good, very close to regular Italian pasta, and have a nice pasta texture.

You an cook them al-dente or softer, just the way you like it. Unlike some other gluten-free pasta they do not have a taste that wants to compete with your pasta sauce, which is quite nice.

Ingredients:
Rice flour, water, modified tapioca starch.

Where To Buy:
If you are in the US you might be able to buy Notta pasta at Albertsons, in the natural foods or pasta isle. I actually found these pasta at our local Albertsons store. But only once. Now I order them online directly from the manufacturer.
